Some of our members are keen triathletes who attend our swimming training in Aberdeen on a Tuesday evening.
Siobhan Prise competed in the Celtman which is one of the most extreme triathlons in the world with a 3.7km swim, 202km bike ride and 41km run over 2 munroe's. Siobhan had never done more then a seven hour cycly in one go so it was a big ask. Not daunted, she dug deep and finished 20 minutes ahead of the 2nd female, winning the womans race...an amazing achievement. There is an inspiring youtube video on the event.
Jamie Watson travelled to England to compete in the 70.3k British Championships in Exmoor and finished by qualifying for the World Championships! He will travel to Zell Am see in Austria for the event on 30th August. This will be a tough event but Jamie is making it even tougher as he is competing in Ironman Copenhagen on 23rd August, the week before. However, if anyone can do this, Jamie can.
Gavin Prise has been competing throughout the length and breath of Scotland in Cycling and triathlon events. His trip to Fort William for the middle distance Highland Worrior triathlon on the 5th July was well worth it as he won his age group! Gavin will be joining Jamie in Copenhagen for the Ironman.
Well done and good luck to all.
