Lithuanian Twins Visit Aberdeen

Lithuania twins, Ieva and Emilija Serapinaite are visiting Aberdeen for 10 days. Ieva won the Youth World Championships this year and Emilija is 4th in the Youth World rankings. They coached the young swimmers at SSMPC's swimming training and they are joining in and coaching at our training day on Sunday 25th at The Log Cabin in Aberdeen. They have enjoyed a long rides in the Aberdeen area with a good canters around a fields, riding in forests and roads. They have visited the Mair's farm and enjoyed learning about the cows. As I write they still have 5 days to see many more sights and join in with our training.

International Successes

In July and August we had members compete in the Youth Europeans in Russia, the Junior Worlds in Hungary, the Youth Worlds in China and the Senior Worlds in Chinese Taipei. 
Eilidh Prise started the July round of competitions by winning the Youth European championships. She started the CE in 15th place and was part of one of the most exciting finishes to a combined ever. August 2013 SSMPC News

Hopefully you have all enjoyed a busy summer full of plenty of sunshine. 

Many of you have been busy competing, not only in Pentathlon but also Triathlons, Running, Pony Club Tetrathlon and other crazy stuff like the Lairig Ghru race! 

Jamie Watson and Gavin Prise completed the Zurich Ironman in hot hot conditions. Jamie is also Scottish age group champion and runner up in the English championship.

Scottish Saltires Members Travel the World competing for GB.

Freyja Prentice travels to Poland to compete in the Senior European Championships from 13th to 16th July. It is great to see Freyja back in GB colours after a comeback from injury. She competed in the Hungarian Championships last month and finished in bronze medal position and since then her training has been going well.
Eilidh Prise sets off for Russia on the 16th July to compete in the Youth Europeans, she then travels straight to Hungary for the Junior Worlds where she will join Jo Muir and...

British Youth Pentathlon Championships 22/23 June 2013, Solihull

A group of 11 SSMPC members competed in the GB Youth Pentathlon Championships at Solihull on the  weekend of the 22 and 23 June. It was the first GB champs for most of them. They were in the capable hands of team manager, Kirsty Craig and team coach, Stevie Mason. They were all fantastic and with awards going to 6th position, a numbers of medals were won. Junior Europeans, Sofia, Bulgaria. 18 - 24 June 2013

The GB Junior team travel to Sofia, Bulgaria for the Junior Europeans on 18th June. Three of the four girls are SSMPC members; Kerry Prise, Eilidh Prise and Jo Muir. They were joined by Alice Fitton in the woman's event. All four girls made it into the final where  Jo Muir finished 7th, Eilidh Prise, 13th, Kerry Prise, 14th and Alice, 22nd.
Kerry, Eilidh and Jo teamed up in the woman's relay.

Congratulations to Jo Muir and Eilidh Prise who traveled to Switzerland to compete in the Swiss Womens International Competition. In her first senior international, Eilidh, starting the CE in 5th place after a strong swim, fence and ride, overtook all ahead of her to win the competition. Jo also improved her start position to finish in 9th place.  Also, well done to Christopher Leichti, Hamish Barker, Lauren Craig and Aylish Paisley who will competed in Youth selection 3 at Hartpury on Sat 16...

Triathlon Qualifier, 10th Feb, Aberdeen;

There were 10 entries for the triathlon Pentathlon Scotland organised in Aberdeen on 10th Feb. All 10 competitors were SSMPC members. All qualified for the National Championships to be held in Solihull in April, Ryan Gauld YDB, Steph Craig, Corrie Hay YDG, Abby Hay, Isabella McQ-K, YCG, Martin Smith, Jamie Hay, YBB, Katie Knowles, YBG, Christopher Leichti, Hamish Barker YAB. Youth D's who competed at the Youth Pentathlon Championships in Solihull on 22/23 June. Steph Craig, Poppy Drysdale and Corry Hay took the YDG team award for SSMPC. Also in the picture is YDB Ryan Gauld and Stevie Mason who was team coach for the event.
