Jo Muir Strikes Gold at Europeans

Scottish Saltires Jo Muir and Eilidh Prise made the arduous trip to Bulgaria to represent GB at the Youth B European Championships. Eilidh competed in the individual event and after a tough combined event with the shooting in very windy conditions in the open-air finished in a very creditable 29th place. Saltires "Get Started" day for 8-11 year olds

Scottish Saltires held a "Get Started" pentathlon session to encourage 8-11 year olds to enter modern pentathlon and other sports. The session was held at Aberdeen Sports Village and had the support of a number successful local athletes including: Freyja Prentice, Kerry Prise, Emily Watson and Yasmin Milne. Scottish Saltires Success at the Pony Club Championships

Three hundred and twenty 12-21 year olds descended on Hartpury College from throughout the UK and Ireland for the PC Tetrathlon Championships. As always the atmosphere was electric, full of excitement, friendliness, fun and competition for the entire weekend.

Youth B Ranking List and GB Selection

Following the selection competitions in Bath in April and the Tetrathlon Championships in Medway, 5 Scottish Saltires members finished in the top 10 of the girls YB ranking list: Eilidh Prise 2nd, Jo Muir 4th, Rachel Smith 7th, Maili MacKenzie 8th and Eleanor Robertson 9th. Eilidh and Jo have been selected to represent GB at the Youth B European Championships in Bulgaria n September.

Tetrathlon Championships

Scottish Saltires had 9 members competeat the British Tetrathlon Championships held at Medway in Kent on 24th July: Tom Robertson YA, Kerry Prise YA, Kate Fowlie YA, Eleanor Robertson YB, Rachel Smith YB, Maili MacKenzie YB, Eilidh Prise YB, Jo Muir YB and Chris Liechti YC all made the journey to Medway and had great success. Scottish Saltires training camp at Blackpool

Scottish Saltires held a training camp from 11th-14th July in Blackpool. 4 members stayed at the Rossall School, Blackpool for 4 days valuable training in fencing, combined event and swimming. Kate Fowlie, Chris Lieichti, Kerry and Eilidh Priseall benefited greatly from the training which provided excellent preparation for the tetrathlon championships at Medway.

Freyja finishes 2nd in World Juniors

Freyja Prentice has had a fantastic few months. At the European Championships held in Portugal in May, Freyja finished 4th and was a member of the winning GB team. She then travelled to Moscow in June for the world cup final where she finished 12th. Everything came together for Freyja at the World Junior Championships on 5 August in Hungary. She finished 2nd and was a member of the winning team with Sam Murray and Katy Burke.

Northern Saltires Biathlon/Triathlon/Tetrathlon 22,23 May

The sun came out for the Northern Saltires Biathlon/Triathlon/Tetrathon on 22/23 May. Over the weekend around 40 competitors from Mastors to Youth E competed at the 4 disciplines of fencing, shooting, running and swimming that make up the Bi, Tri and Tet competitions. There were some experienced competitors but also some new to Pentathlon who enjoyed both the camaraderie and competitive aspects of Multi-Sport. Youth A GB team win Gold at Europeans

Scottish Saltires Kerry Prise was a member of the Gold winning Youth A GB team at the European championships. The team included Alice Fitton, Kerry and Roberta Jenkinson who were placed 4th, 9th and 17th individually but combined with great success to win team gold. Kerry came from 37th to 9th after a very strong Combined Event.

More World Cup Success for Freyja Prentice

Congratulations to Freyja who has finished in the top 10 in every World Cup event she has competed in. In April Freyja was 9th at the World Cup no 3 in Medway, Kent and she was 9th in Budapest on 8th May. Louise Helyer also had a stong performance in Budapest and finished in 16th position - this was following a bout of norovirus at the World Cup in medway ! Well done to Freyja and Louise.

Youth A/B Trials Bath 23/24 April

Emma Easton, Mikaela Megginson and Kerry Prise travelled to Bath for the final Youth A selection competition. They finished 10th, 9th and 1st with Kerry gaining the top spot on Youth A UK rankings after 3 selection competitions.

Four Scottish Saltires members represented GB at the Youth Internationalin bath. Kerry Prise took the gold with an impressive combined event starting in 17th position and finishing in 1st ! Jo Muir finished in 14th, Kate Fowlie 17th and Maili MacKenzie in 25th.

A great performance from Freyja took her to 5th place at the World Cup event in Cairo - best placed UK Competitor.

Kerry Prise
Youth A, Kerry Prise, competed in all three events. She finished 8th on the ranking list and earned the right to compete in the World Cup in Medway as a Senior representing GB. Northern Saltires British Champions!

Northern Saltires members Kerry Prise, Kate Fowlie and Eilidh Prise all won their age group to become British Champions at the British Triathlon Champships. The event was held in Wolverhampton on the 14th and 15th November. Kerry won the Youth A Girls with a score of 2804 points, Kate won the Youth B Girls with a score of 2776 points and Eilidh won the Youth C Girls with 3180 points. With 280 athletes competiting at the event, thiswas a great achievement for Northern Saltires and for the girls.

Youth D's who competed at the Youth Pentathlon Championships in Solihull on 22/23 June. Steph Craig, Poppy Drysdale and Corry Hay took the YDG team award for SSMPC. Also in the picture is YDB Ryan Gauld and Stevie Mason who was team coach for the event.
